I
had the opportunity to work with Tony Nelssen during the development of the
Desert Foothills Character Area, the second of its kind in the City of
Scottsdale. I attended numerous work study sessions which Mr. Nelssen was
quite vocal. Tony made excellent suggestions which many were instituted
into the program. Tony never shoved any of his ideas down anyone's throat;
he explained his point of view and left the ideas open for discussion. He
made the decision to use his ideas as a collective process for the benefit of
all concerned. Tony certainly demonstrated leadership qualities throughout
the process which took years of dedication.
